Napa: Wicked Smart, Wicked Fast, and Professionally Lazy

Napa: Wicked Smart, Wicked Fast, and Professionally Lazy

Napa was the kind of dog who made you wonder who was really training whom.

She was wicked smart. Sometimes too smart. You could almost see her thinking through a situation, figuring out what you were doing, what she wanted, and how she might quietly get her way. She had that look dogs get when they understand more than they are letting on. She was also a cuddler. Napa liked being close to her people and close to the other dogs in the family. If someone was sitting down, she wanted to be nearby. If another dog was lying down, she might decide that was a good place to settle in too. She liked her pack, and she made it clear that she belonged right in the middle of it. Napa was fast too. Really fast. When she wanted to run, she could take off like she had been waiting all day for the chance. Of course, that was when she felt like it. A lot of the time, Napa was perfectly happy being lazy, stretched out around the house like she had nothing at all to prove. That was part of what made her so easy to love. She could be sharp, quick, and full of energy one minute, then completely content to do absolutely nothing the next. She had a sweet way about her. Smart, affectionate, a little lazy, and full of personality. She was the kind of dog who made a home feel warmer just by being there. Napa was loved, and she earned every bit of it.
